Call for gypsy and traveller sites in Carmarthenshire
Landowners and developers are being asked to suggest areas of land that could be suitable for gypsy and traveller sites in Carmarthenshire.
Carmarthenshire County Council has undertaken and published a Gypsy Traveller Accommodation Needs Assessment (GTAA) which identifies a current unmet need for gypsy and traveller pitches in the Llanelli area only, and sites for travelling show people countywide.
Interested parties can suggest sites for potential consideration within the next Local Development Plan (LDP), which will guide development in Carmarthenshire until 2033, as part of this public consultation.
Feedback gathered will be used to help select areas of land for inclusion - or otherwise – in the Deposit LDP, which will be published and consulted on later this year.
The invitation to submit sites for gypsy and traveller and also show people is running for a 10-week period, finishing at 2pm on Monday, April 8.
The consultation can be found on the council’s website.
Hard copies are also available from the council’s customer services centres and public libraries, or can be requested from the Forward Planning Section by calling 01267 228818 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
