Night-time road closure at A484 Bronwydd
A night-time road closure is being put in place on the A484 near Bronwydd Arms on the outskirts of Carmarthen for essential maintenance works.
Carmarthenshire County Council has appointed Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd to carry out improvement works on the A484. Parts of the protruding rock face on the western side of the carriageway - near the entrance to Pante Farm – will be scaled back.
Due to the limited working area a night-time closure is essential to enable the road to remain open during the day.
The closure will be in place from
- 7pm Friday September 13, to 6am Saturday September 14
- 7pm Sunday September 15, to 6am Monday September 16
Public notices have been placed adjacent to the highway and road signs will give advance warning of the planned closure.
Diversions will be via the B4301 and A485, and will be signposted.
The 7.09pm Carmarthen to Cardigan and the 6.50pm Cardigan to Carmarthen 460 bus service will operate via a diversionary route on Friday, September 13.
Cllr Hazel Evans, Executive Board Member for Environment, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience whilst these essential works are underway, and thank motorists in advance for their cooperation.”
