Information and support for parents
The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on education and schools, and on our young people and children.
Since schools were closed on March 20, pupils have been learning remotely with support from their teachers. We have provided digital support to families that needed it, supplying computers and helping with connection issues.
A very small number of schools were re-opened as childcare hubs for children of critical workers and vulnerable children.
Families of children entitled to free school meals are receiving direct payments or food packs to provide breakfast and lunch five times a week.
We continue to support vulnerable children and their families, and are helping parents to support their children to use the Welsh language at home.
Schools will re-open on June 29 until July 17 for pupils to check in, catch up and prepare for the summer and September.
Welsh Government has confirmed that all pupils will be able to return to school in September.
We would like to thank parents and carers for their continued support and co-operation during the ongoing challenges posed by coronavirus (Covid-19).
Please visit this webpage for all updates and information on schools and the measures we are putting in place during this time.
