Licensed business must comply with new regulations
Business are being urged to comply with new licensing measures introduced by the Government to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)
A wide range of premises, including some licensed ones, have been told been told to close as the outbreak branches further into our communities.
Some licensed premises, subject to stringent conditions, are allowed to remain open such as those offering a takeaway service.
Carmarthenshire County Council licensing and trading standards officers, together with police, are visiting premises to ensure they comply with the new regulations by not opening.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Executive Board Member for Public Protection, Cllr Philip Hughes said: “We all need to do what we can to help prevent the transmission of Coronbavirus. These new regulations have been put in place for a purpose and are vital in the fight to help reduce the outbreak from spreading further into our communities. These temporary measures must be adhered to. The message is if you are told to close then that is what you must do immediately. Failure to do will result in our officers, along with the police, closing you down. Financial help is available for small businesses in Carmarthenshire impacted by the Coronavirus crisis so I would urge you to apply. All details can be found on our website.”
