Foster Wales Carmarthenshire is proud to sponsor the Inspiring Young Person category at the Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards 2024, taking place on Thursday, 20 February 2025. This award recognises young people who have made a lasting impact through their dedication to sport.
For many children and young people in foster care, sport provides more than just physical activity – it can be a source of comfort, stability, and self-expression. It offers opportunities to build confidence, develop friendships, and create lasting memories, often serving as a vital outlet during challenging times.
The finalists for this year’s Inspiring Young Person category are:
- Evie Beggs (Netball and Swimming)
A 17-year-old from Llanelli, Evie is a national youth panel member and a dedicated volunteer at Morganite Netball and Llanelli ASC, inspiring others through her coaching and umpiring.
- Max Sergeant (Football)
At just 14, Max founded a new under-14s team in Felinfoel, recruiting coaches and securing sponsorship to provide opportunities for young players.
- Teyan Burt (Swimming)
A 17-year-old volunteer at Llanelli Swimming Club, Teyan coaches, officiates, and supports younger swimmers while excelling in his own sport.
