A Summer of spectacle at Theatrau Sir Gâr

This summer, Theatrau Sir Gâr has an exciting programme of live entertainment, taking centre stage at its three theatres across Carmarthenshire :– the Glowyr Theatre in Ammanford, the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen, and the Ffwrnes Theatre in Llanelli.

The season kicks off in style on 26 July at Ammanford’s Glowyr Theatre with Breadcrumbs, a brand-new family production packed with music, magic, and puppetry.

On 25 and 26 July, the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen hosts Ceridwen, a captivating bilingual production from the Urdd Theatre Company. Featuring live music and a talented cast of young performers, this imaginative reimagining of one of Wales’ most legendary tales promises a truly unique and unforgettable theatrical experience.

Music fans are in for a treat on 1 August as the Glowyr Theatre hosts The Louis & Ella Music Show. Celebrating the iconic sounds of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, this soulful performance includes jazz legends such as the Oscar Peterson Quartet, the Dave Cottle Trio, and acclaimed vocalist Sarah Meek.

From 31 July to 2 August, Llanelli’s Ffwrnes Theatre welcomes 9 to 5 The Musical, presented by the Llanelli Musical Theatre Group. Bursting with humour, heart, and empowering energy, this toe-tapping show features unforgettable songs and a feel-good story inspired by the hit film.

For comedy fans, there’s plenty of laughter in store with Comedy Club nights featuring top up-and-coming UK stand-up comedians. Catch the hilarity at Glowyr Theatre on 25 July and Ffwrnes Theatre on 1 August.

Rounding off the summer in style, Ffwrnes Theatre hosts One Foot in the Groove on Saturday 9th August a lively daytime rave led by the charismatic Owen Money and his daughter Katie Mittell. Expect dancefloor fillers from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, perfect for those ready to groove down memory lane.

To add to the fun, free family fun days will be taking place at each of the three theatres throughout the summer. Dates and details will be announced soon via Theatrau Sir Gâr’s website and social media channels. For tickets and further information, visit: www.theatrausirgar.co.uk
