As always, our crews are prepared and will respond to changing conditions. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and take extra care on your journeys.

Sandbags

The Council cannot accommodate advance deliveries of sandbags to homes or businesses. Should conditions warrant, the Council will place sandbags at predetermined strategic sites across the county. During any severe weather event, and only if resources allow, distribution of sandbags will be prioritised to those most in need and are in limited supply.

Following the heavy rain fall and flooding of the past week, a number of sandbags have already been deployed to various locations. Please look to re-use these sandbags in the first instance.

The Council’s priority system ensures that limited resources are directed where they can prevent the greatest harm. We remind residents that personal preparedness is essential during periods of heavy rain and flood risk. Sandbags and sand can be readily purchased from most DIY/Builders Merchant shops and local aggregate suppliers.

Storm Claudia

Heavy rain is anticipated over the next 24-48 hours. Weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office but aren’t currently covering Carmarthenshire, however given the predicted rainfall and the weather conditions over the last week, highways and properties may be affected.
As always, our crews are prepared and will respond to changing conditions. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and take extra care on your journeys.
