Carmarthenshire’s sporting talents celebrated at the Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards

The annual Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards was held on Thursday 12 February 2026, celebrating sport across Carmarthenshire.

Organised by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Actif Communities team and held in Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli, the awards recognised the sporting achievements and successes of individual athletes and sports clubs as well as the dedicated coaches and hardworking volunteers who make a difference in their communities through sport.

Jac Morgan, from Brynamman, was named as the 2025 Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Personality of the Year, following a successful year on the rugby field which included selection for the prestigious British & Irish Lions 2025 tour to Australia.

Now in its 26th year, the 2025 Sports Awards marked achievements from September to August 2025 and was hosted by former international rugby union referee and presenter, Nigel Owens MBE.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: 

I’m delighted that the Actif Communities Sports Awards has, once again, shone a spotlight on sports clubs and sporting individuals within Carmarthenshire. 
Well done to all award winners and nominees for their fantastic achievements.”

For the third consecutive year, the awards main sponsors were Gavin Griffiths Group.
