Families are invited to make the most of February half term by exploring a packed programme of activities, events, and attractions across Carmarthenshire. Discover Carmarthenshire is the go-to guide for all things to do this half term from culture and creativity to sport and outdoor adventure.

The county’s vibrant performing arts scene takes centre stage, with an exciting line-up of shows guaranteed to entertain audiences of all ages. Highlights include Exciting Science at Golwyr Ammanford, Welsh Wrestling at the Ffwrnes Theatre, and family favourites such as Jack and the Beanstalk and The Sound of Music at the Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen.

Carmarthenshire Museums offer a variety of family-friendly experiences this half term. Explore the Museum of Land Speed in Pendine, where the county’s world-famous motoring history comes to life, or visit Parc Howard Museum in Llanelli, which combines art, heritage, and beautiful grounds for a perfect day out. It’s also the last chance to see the Smashing Boundaries exhibition at Parc Howard, celebrating the achievements of Carmarthenshire’s women athletes from the early 20th century to today.

Oriel Myrddin Gallery in Carmarthen, recently reopened after major redevelopment, presents Gwrach | Witch – Clive Hicks-Jenkins: A Fairy Tale Retold until 14 March. This immersive exhibition reimagines Hansel & Gretel.

For those keen to stay active, Carmarthenshire Leisure Centres are running half-term swimming sessions, sports activities, and family fitness opportunities, while Carmarthenshire Libraries host crafts, storytimes, and creative sessions for young people.

Families heading abroad to the slopes can try the Just Ski 1-Day Course at Pembrey Country Park on Sunday 15 February, offering beginners a full-day introduction to skiing, including equipment hire, coaching, lunch, and refreshments.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fresh air and adventure across Carmarthenshire’s council-run country parks, including Pembrey Country Park, Llyn Llech Owain, and the Millennium Coastal Park, as well as the new Tywi Valley Path. From woodland trails, beaches, cycling routes, and play areas to the stunning coastline at Cefn Sidan and Pendine, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can also combine outdoor fun with attractions such as the Museum of Land Speed and Crazy Golf at Pendine.

For creative experience ETO, Carmarthenshire’s Reuse Village, offers DIY projects and a wide range of preloved toys from bikes to TVs and everything in between for hands-on fun and sustainable play.

Half term will also see exciting community events across the county, including Ymlaen Llanelli Superhero Day, where families can dress up, enjoy themed activities, and celebrate in the town centre.
