Volunteering - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Throughout Carmarthenshire, communities and businesses have come together to help wherever they can offering both practical and emotional support.

However, volunteering that requires going out of the house is now only permitted in certain circumstances. If you are well and are not at risk from coronavirus you can undertake essential activities including:

  • Delivering food
  • Helping people with their medical needs, such as picking up prescriptions
  • Providing essential care or helping vulnerable people.

Remember, you can only provide support to people who are in isolation if you fulfil ALL of the conditions below:

  • You are well and have no symptoms like a cough or high temperature and nobody in your household does
  • You are under 70
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have any long-term health conditions that make you vulnerable to coronavirus.

Don't forget, you don't have to leave your house to help, a lot of people will be feeling lonely and isolated - a phone call or keeping in touch by social media can make all the difference. It's also really important you only share information from trusted sources - we regularly post updates on our Facebook and Twitter accounts if you want to keep up to date with what's happening in Carmarthenshire.

We very much appreciate the work you're doing in our communities and we will continue to update this page as more information becomes available. If you have any questions about accessing help or volunteering our helpline is also available on 01267 234567 between 8.30am and 6pm, five days a week.
