Commercial premises owners and leaseholders in towns across Carmarthenshire can now apply for funding of up to £2,000 to revitalise and improve the aesthetics of their shop fronts. The funding is brought to Carmarthenshire County Council through the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund [SPF] as part of the Levelling Up agenda.
Revitalising Rural Town Centres is a targeted fund that provides support for rural town centre premises to enhance their shop frontages. The fund offers commercial premises owners and leaseholders the opportunity to apply for financial support to redecorate the outside of their buildings, general upkeep, and replacement of basic features, such as windows, guttering or rendering, install new canopies, and new bilingual signage. A new call for applications is now open and those who wish to apply have until 31 January 2024 to apply, please visit our website for more information.
Another exciting funding opportunity has been presented by SPF for Carmarthenshire businesses, which extends funding to the 3 principal towns of Carmarthen, Ammanford and Llanelli and also Burry Port. The Refreshing Town Centres fund, which is open to commercial premises owners and leaseholders, offers up to £2,000 for those who receive the grant to be able to decorate the façade of their building, but also for general upkeep and replacement of basic features, such as windows, guttering or rendering. For information into the Refreshing Town Centres grant funding, or to apply for the grant, please visit our website.
For more information about the Refreshing Town Centres fund, our council officers will be available at one of the Carmarthenshire Hwbs for advice. Please see the dates and times below.

Cllr. Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism said:
I welcome the opportunities that SPF is bringing to Carmarthenshire. The funding will allow businesses to improve the appearances of their buildings, making them more attractive to not only tourists but to their communities too. Both schemes will contribute to improving the local economy of towns across Carmarthenshire.
Successful applications for both schemes must ensure that their projects will be completed by September 2024.
