Carmarthenshire’s A Level and AS students celebrate results

Students from across Carmarthenshire have collected their A Level and AS results today, Thursday 13 August 2026, with a total of 98% of students achieving grade A*-E at A level and 87.9% achieving grade A -E at AS level.

Through both exams and assessments, applicable to different courses, a total of 25.6% of A level students across Carmarthenshire have received A or A* this year; 12.2% of the county’s AS students in Carmarthenshire achieved A grades.

On receiving her results today, Celyn from Ysgol Bro Myrddin said:

I’m Celyn and I just had 3 A’s and 1 B in my A Levels. I’m going to study Politics and International Relations at Cardiff University in September, and to celebrate tonight, I am on the National Youth Choir of Wales course So I imagine a few of us girls will have some drinks in the bar tonight to celebrate."

On receiving his results today, Guto said:

Fy enw i yw Guto ac ym mis Medi byddai’n  cael prentisiaeth yn electrical engineering."

Cabinet Member for Education and Welsh Language, Cllr. Glynog Davies said:

Congratulations to all of Carmarthenshire’s learners receiving their A Level and AS results today. These achievements reflect the dedication, perseverance and commitment you have shown throughout your studies, and you should be extremely proud of all you have accomplished.

I would also like to thank the teachers, support staff, families and friends whose encouragement and support have helped our young people reach this important milestone.”
