Ready for a Christmas Market Stall? Get free expert training

Businesses and aspiring traders of all sizes are being invited to discover the opportunities available at Carmarthenshire’s markets this Christmas, with free Carmarthenshire Markets trading seminars. 

Places are limited, and come on a first come, first serve basis!

13 October 2026 – Llanelli Town Hall, Church Street
•    Session 1: 2pm – 4:30pm
•    Session 2: 6pm – 8:30pm

14 October Carmarthen-  St. Peters Civic Hall, Notts Square
•    Session 1: 2pm – 4:30pm
•    Session 2: 6pm -  8:30pm 

The practical sessions are being delivered by the National Market Trading Federation and will provide prospective stallholders with essential information on how to become a professional, market trader, hints and tips and business and trading advice. The sessions will cover important legal and administrative requirements, including technology and equipment. 

The events will also provide an opportunity to meet market organisers, council representatives and existing traders, while learning more about local customer trends, Christmas events, late night shopping and opportunities to develop longer-term business relationships.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Markets, Cllr Carys Jones said: 

Our markets play an important role in supporting local businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship and bringing people into our town centres. These sessions are a great opportunity for anyone considering market trading to find out what’s involved and how you can get your business from ideas at home to our markets. We want to give new and existing traders the information and confidence they need to take advantage of the opportunities our markets can offer."

The seminars aim to give potential traders the knowledge and confidence to decide whether Christmas market trading is commercially worthwhile and understand the steps needed to get started.

These sessions are being funded by the UK Government’s Local Growth Fund.
