Holocaust Memorial Day
Friday, January 27 marks Holocaust Memorial Day. A day we stop to commemorate, reflect and remember all the millions of people affected by the Holocaust and other genocides worldwide.
The UK Online Commemoration for Holocaust Memorial Day 2023 will be streamed online this evening between 7:00pm-7:45pm.

White Ribbon
We’re proud to support White Ribbon UK today with flags flying at our council buildings in Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli. We will also be illuminating County Hall in purple this evening to mark the occasion.
World Pancreatic Cancer Day
This evening, County Hall will be illuminated purple to support World Pancreatic Cancer Day and to remember loved ones who have sadly died of pancreatic cancer and to acknowledge those living with or beyond the disease.

Armistice Day
Tonight and on Sunday 13 November, County Hall will be illuminated red as we reflect and remember the sacrifices of our Armed Forces, and all those whose lives have been lost in conflict and acts of terror. We remember them #ArmisticeDay
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
We will be lighting up County Hall in purple this evening to support and raise awareness for POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) condition.

Baby Loss Awareness Week
This evening, we will be lighting County Hall Carmarthen in pink and blue in support of bereaved parents, their families and friends, who wish to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth, and in infancy.
The lights symbolise the council’s support of Baby Loss Awareness Week (October 9-15), and those who have experienced loss.

Emergency Services Day
Today, we honour Emergency Services Day by raising the 999DayUK flag at at County Hall Carmarthen, and the Town Halls in Llanelli and Ammanford. Please join us as we pay tribute to all those who help keep us safe. Thank you.
