Carmarthenshire County Council have been asked to attend a virtual community event, hosted by the Wales Strategic Migration Partnership, which will aim to provide information surrounding the arrival of asylum seekers at Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli.

Cllr Darren Price, Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council said: “Carmarthenshire County Council’s position has not changed. We strongly maintain that that the Stradey Park Hotel is inappropriate to house such a large concentration of asylum seekers in one location.”

“We have been asked to contribute to a virtual community event where we, as a Local Authority, will aim to respond to any technical questions surrounding this issue that are within our remit.”
