Carmarthenshire County Council would like to take this opportunity to thank Carmarthenshire businesses who attended this year’s 100% Sir Gâr Christmas Pop- Up events in Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford. A special thank you to all those who visited one of our pop- up locations for all your Christmas present needs this year.

Over 12,000 people attended this year’s Pop-Ups across all our locations, significantly boosting the businesses of several local sellers during their time at our Pop-Ups. This year saw a number of businesses take part who had not previously been involved before. Rhian Lloyd, of TRHinket, who makes handmade jewellery, said:

This has been a great opportunity for my business to have access to a high street location and a new shop window to gain new customers. This has been my first-time taking part in an 100% Sir Gar event and it has been a great experience to meet other Carmarthenshire based businesses as well as being very worthwhile from a business perspective.

Not only did this year’s event pull in small business owners who had never taken part, but was also attended by those who had participated before. Cwyr Cain, a partnership between Rhian Davies-Belcher and Carys Lewis that sells a wide range of hand poured home fragrance gifts and candles, returned for their consecutive year. They said:

Once again, we’d like to thank Carmarthenshire County Council for the opportunity to take part in the 100% Sir Gar events. This year, we took our products to Ammanford and were really pleased to have the opportunity to gain new customers in parts of the County which we’d not traded before. Being able to showcase our products in one of the Christmas cabins was a great opportunity for us and the organised entertainment gave an extra festive feel for visitors and shopper.

Cllr Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism said:

“I would like to firstly thank the small businesses that attended the 100% Sir Gâr Christmas Pop- Ups. It was wonderful to see the wide range of Carmarthenshire produced goods that were being showcased for the public. Carmarthenshire County Council takes pride in being able to deliver initiatives such as 100% Sir Gâr, which are hugely popular amongst the community. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Carmarthenshire businesses this Christmas”.
