The Allotment and Community Growing survey is live

To mark Wales Nature Week (29 June – 7 July), Carmarthenshire residents are invited to participate in an online Allotment and Community Growing survey, which is jointly funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and Carmarthenshire County Council.

Allotments and community growing spaces can provide numerous benefits, including healthy living and mental well-being. The survey will enable the Local Authority to better understand the need for such spaces across the county, which aligns with the Council’s Well-being Objective 3: Enabling our communities and environment to be healthy, safe, and prosperous (Prosperous Communities).

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Decarbonisation and Sustainability, Cllr Aled Vaughan Owen commented:

This survey will allow the County Council to better provide spaces to encourage people to grow their own produce through an allotment, or to join community growing spaces to socialise as well as learn new skills. Whether your knowledge is limited to only knowing the difference between carrots and parsnips, or you may be a seasoned gardener – we want to hear your views on this important subject.

The Allotment and Community Growing survey is live between 5 July and 2 August 2024.
