Carmarthenshire County Council celebrates learners across the County during Adult Learners Week.

The County Council’s tourism team have launched their Carmarthenshire Tourism Ambassador Scheme, which provides people with the right training and knowledge about the special qualities of Carmarthenshire. The scheme is urging more people to get involved and become an ambassador.  Over 400 people have already registered to the online scheme. Sustainable Carmarthenshire is the latest module to be released on the platform which will continue to expand over next few months as more and more modules are added.

Enrolling to become a Wales Ambassador is a great opportunity to learn something new this month. Continuous learning can have a positive impact on people’s lives; whether you’re looking to learn more about the area, improve job prospects or meet new people, becoming an ambassador is a great way to deepen your appreciation of a place.

The Council has also been using money from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to encourage education among adults.

Multiply, a partnership between Carmarthenshire County Council, Coleg Sir Gâr and Adult Learning Wales, works with adults aged 19+ to improve their confidence in mathematics. Multiply offers fun, practical sessions tailored around individual or group needs. All sessions are free.

One learner, Amani , was signposted to Multiply in August 2023 was able to undertake a course funded by Multiply and delivered by Carmarthenshire Learning Service at the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed.
