Council seeks views on landlord licensing in Tyisha

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking views on proposed additional regulations for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) in the Tyisha and Glanymor areas of Llanelli.

Residents, landlords, tenants and those with a connection to the Tyisha and Glanymor wards are invited have their say on a potential Additional Licensing Scheme for larger private rental properties.

The consultation asks for opinions on the need for a scheme, licence conditions, associated costs and the potential impacts and benefits. Responses will help to shape the Additional Licensing Scheme for the area.

Cllr Linda Davies Evans, Cabinet Member for Homes said:

The aim of additional licensing is to improve the standard of larger rental homes and to ensure that good quality landlords operate in the area.

We want landlords, residents and anyone with an interest in Tyisha and Glanymor to help us shape an Additional Licensing Scheme by telling us of any previous issues encountered with HMOs, what measures could be included to benefit residents and landlords and what potential impact this Scheme could have."
