Temporary closure of car park and path to the Millennium Park, Llanelli

Carmarthenshire County Council is carrying out a specialist inspection at a site just off Yspitty Road, Bynea, Llanelli following the discovery of old ordnance on 28 and 29 November 2024. The ordnances discovered last week were disposed of safely at the time by specialist a Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team.  

The car park and path to the Millennium Park have been temporarily closed and cordoned off to the public whilst the County Council carries out its inspections on the site and will only reopen when any potential ongoing risk has been dealt with. 

Whilst the risk to the public is low, Carmarthenshire County Council is asking people to stay away from the area whilst it remains closed to the public."
