Council seeks views on vision for Llanelli Multi-Modal Interchange

Carmarthenshire County Council is gathering views on plans to transform land to the south of Llanelli Railway Station to create bus, walking, cycling, electric vehicle and parking facilities.

Draft plans have been produced, with residents and businesses encouraged to have their say before plans are developed further and submitted for planning permission.

Residents can view the draft plans and have their say at drop-in sessions:

Thursday 27 March at the Antioch Centre, Copperworks Rd, Llanelli SA15 2NE, 10am-7pm

The consultation will close on Friday 18 April.

The proposed scheme has been developed closely with Network Rail and Transport for Wales to promote the use of sustainable transport for journeys in to and around Llanelli. It encourages buses, coaches and taxis to move fluidly through the site via a one-way system, with vehicular access from Copperworks Road and a separate exit on to Station Road.

Active travel access to the station is proposed via Station Road, Copperworks Road, Great Western Terrace as well as links to the Post Office car park. 

Cabinet Member for Transport, Waste and Infrastructure services, Cllr Edward Thomas said:

We are looking for feedback to help shape plans for Llanelli Multi-Modal Interchange to ensure that we are providing an appropriate solution that enhances access to more sustainable transport opportunities to support Llanelli into the future.”
