Passing of Cllr Gary Jones

“We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of our colleague, Councillor Gary Jones.

Gary remained a dedicated presence in the chamber, always ready to represent his community with care and integrity.

Gary was elected to the Council in 2017 and served as a member of the full Council. He was a thoughtful and committed representative for his community and brought a calm, considered voice to the chamber.

A former Chairman of Llangennech Community Council and long-serving employee of Tata Steel in Trostre, Gary gave much of his time to public service, always with humility and dedication.

Our thoughts are with his wife, Cara, and their two daughters at this difficult time.”
