UEFA Women's EURO
2 - 27 July 2025
Wales Makes History
Wales is set to make history at UEFA Women's EURO 2025, marking their first-ever appearance in a major international football tournament. Under the guidance of Canadian international Rhian Wilkinson, who took over as head coach in 2024, the team achieved this remarkable feat by securing qualification for the finals in Switzerland.
The tournament will take place from 2 to 27 July 2025, with matches held across eight venues in Switzerland. Wales has been drawn into a challenging Group D alongside reigning champions England, France, and the Netherlands. Their opening match is scheduled for 5 July against the Netherlands in Lucerne, followed by fixtures against France and England. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, with the final set to be held at St. Jakob-Park in Basel on 27 July.
This milestone is a testament to the growth and development of women's football in Wales, reflecting years of dedication and perseverance. The team's qualification not only showcases their talent and determination but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of female footballers in Wales and beyond.
As Wales prepares to compete on the European stage, the support of fans and communities across the country will be crucial. This achievement is not just a victory for the team but a celebration of the progress and potential of Welsh women's football.

Meet The Carmarthenshire Woman Making History
-Ffion Morgan-
Footballer and member of the first Welsh National Team to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Euros.
Ffion was born in Llandeilo in 2000. She started playing football when she was just 4 years old, for Saron Juniors, and moved on to play for Ammanford Girls when she 11. When she was 16 Ffion moved away to study at the Football Association of Wales’ elite female football academy at Coleg y Cymoedd in Ystrad Mynach. Her first senior signing was with Cardiff City in 2019. In 2021 she signed to Bristol City, where she scored the final goal in the game that won them the Women’s Champion League and promoted them to the Women’s Super League in 2023.
Ffion was inspired to play for Wales after meeting former Welsh International player Loren Dykes when she was 7. Her dream come true would be to become that role model for other young girls. This July she will play with Wales when they compete at the UEFA Women’s European Championships for the first time.
Ffion Morgan’s Wales jersey is on display at Parc Howard Museum
As part of the Smashing Boundaries exhibition, we’re proud to showcase a piece of sporting history — Ffion Morgan’s Wales jersey is now on display at Parc Howard Museum.
This special exhibition celebrates trailblazing women in sport, and Ffion's contribution to Welsh football and her role in the national team’s historic qualification for the UEFA Women’s European Championships makes her jersey a powerful symbol of progress and inspiration.
The Smashing Boundaries exhibition runs until 19 October 2025, and you can visit Parc Howard Museum from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10am and 5pm.
