Carmarthenshire gardening businesses invited to join trusted Buy With Confidence scheme

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Trading Standards team is encouraging local gardening businesses to join the nationally recognised Buy With Confidence scheme - a trusted partnership between businesses, consumers, and Trading Standards services.

The scheme helps consumers find reputable local traders who have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards, promoting confidence in Carmarthenshire’s business community.

Trading Standards are currently receiving an increase in requests from consumers for gardening businesses who are members of the scheme.  However, businesses from all sectors that have been trading for at least six months and can demonstrate their commitment to fair and honest trading practices are invited to apply for membership.

Prospective members can find further information and apply at www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk. Please note that membership fees for Carmarthenshire County Council may differ from those listed online, as local discounts may apply.

Carmarthenshire County Council also reminds residents to take care when employing traders. Always do your research before agreeing to any work, particularly if you are approached by cold callers, asked for large deposits in advance or if the trader does not provide paperwork or receipts.

Seek recommendations from trusted family or friends for similar types of work and remember that skills in one area may not always transfer to another.
