Temporary overnight closures on A485 Alltwalis for essential resurfacing works

Carmarthenshire County Council will carry out essential resurfacing works on the A485 in Alltwalis this month. To safely complete the works, a 170‑metre section of the A485—located 1.1 kilometres south of its junction with the B4459 will be closed overnight for two nights, from 6:40 pm on 12 March 2026 until 6 am on 14 March 2026.

During the daytime, the road will reopen under single-lane traffic-light control, as currently in place. This will allow traffic to pass through Alltwalis outside the overnight working periods.

While the road is closed overnight, traffic will follow a signed diversion route via:

• the A485 to Llanllwni
• the B4336 to Llandysul
• the A486 to Pentre-cwrt
• the A484 to Glangwili
• returning to the A485 to Alltwalis.

Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained wherever possible throughout the works.
