Stephen Williams elected in the Elli ward by-election

Stephen Williams has been elected the new Carmarthenshire County Councillor for the Elli ward.

A by-election was held on Wednesday, 6 March 2024, following the resignation of former councillor John Jenkins.

Results of the by election are as follows:

Steve Beckett, Plaid Cymru - The Party of Wales - 48

Sharon Burdess, Independent - 23

Wayne Erasmus, Gwlad - The Welsh Independence Party - 2

Justin Griffiths, Welsh Liberal Democrats - 16

Nick Pearce, Welsh Labour - 145

Hettie Sheehan, UKIP - 27

Richard Williams, Welsh Conservative Party Candidate - 151

Stephen Williams, Independent – 211

The number of ballot papers rejected – 1

The turnout was 36.43%.

Stephen Williams has also been elected to represent the Elli ward at Llanelli Town Council.
