Planned road closure at Cowell Street and Stepney Street, Llanelli

A planned road closure is taking place at Cowell Street and Stepney Street, Llanelli from Tuesday 27 August 2024 for a period of 7 weeks, in order for Carmarthenshire County Council to carry out essential public realm improvement works. Both Cowell Street and the western end of Stepney Street will be affected during this time.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans commented:

“The closure of these roads will allow the Council to carry out essential work in line with the Tackling Towns programme. We thank the public for their patience whilst we carry out necessary works”.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure and liaison has taken place with affected businesses.  Alternative parking is available during the works in the nearby Murray Street Car Park and in other streets.

There will be no alternative route for this closure.
