New evening Hwb sessions to offer support during February and March

The Council’s Hwb advisors, alongside a variety of partner organisations, will be offering support and advice at locations across the county with new evening sessions during February and March.

The Evening Hwb is a new initiative by Carmarthenshire County Council to make essential services more accessible, especially for those who can’t visit the Hwbs for support during traditional 9-5 working hours.

Alongside Council Hwb advisors, there will also be a variety of partner organisations, offering face-to-face discussions and support on everything from council services to wellbeing and employability.

The events will take place at the following locations:

Carmarthen St Peters Civic Hall – 12 February (4-7pm)

Newcastle Emlyn Leisure Centre – 20 February (4-7pm)

                     Llanelli Leisure Centre – 26 February (4-7pm)

                     Ammanford Leisure Centre – 12 March (4-7pm)

                     Llandovery Leisure Centre – 19 March (5.30-8pm)

St Clears Leisure Centre – 26 March (4-7pm)

Here’s what you can expect from the events:

CCC Hwb advisors will be there to assist with all council enquiries, cost of living advice and support, wellbeing support and direct referrals to Carmarthenshire Citizens Advice.

Actif Communities will be present to showcase their activities to suit the needs of all audiences and to let you know what they have going on in your community.

The Family information service will be there to show what support is available for families, providing information on quality childcare options, activities and events.

Employability Support officers will be on hand to assist with supporting people to get back in to work, identifying training opportunities and can help with CV writing.

Housing Services will have housing officers in attendance to assist with council housing rent enquires and estate management issues.

Adult Learning officers will be present to assist with digital learning and offer courses to unlock new skills, passions and opportunities.

Angor will be there to offer their support to anyone suffering from cancer or life limiting illnesses.

Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Homes - Cllr Linda Evans said:

We’re excited to offer these new Evening Hwb sessions as part of our ongoing commitment to making essential services more accessible to everyone in our community. By working with partner organizations, we aim to provide support on a range of issues, ensuring no one misses out, no matter their schedule."
