Planned overnight road closure on the A484 at Bronwydd, 8-9 May 2026

An essential overnight road closure will take place on the A484 at Bronwydd to allow planned highway resurfacing works to be carried out.

The temporary closure is necessary to protect road users and the workforce. The works will take place overnight from 6pm on Friday 8 May 2026 until 6am on Saturday 9 May 2026, minimising disruption during peak daytime hours.

During the closure, a fully signed diversion route will be in place. For southbound traffic, the diversion will be via the A484 to Saron, A486 to Pontwelly roundabout, B4336 to Llanllwni, A485 to Carmarthen, A485 to Francis Well roundabout, before rejoining the A484 south of the closure. The diversion route will operate in reverse for northbound traffic.

Carmarthenshire County Council would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their understanding and cooperation while these essential works are completed. Motorists are advised to plan journeys in advance, allow extra time where possible, and follow the signed diversion routes.
