There is just one week to go until Pembrey Country Park hosts Wales National Armed Forces Day 2026, with residents and visitors to Carmarthenshire encouraged to come along and show their support for the Armed Forces Community.

The FREE event (parking fees apply) will welcome visitors on Saturday 27 June from 11:30am with an exciting programme of events including a parade and an Atlas C.1 A400M flypast at 12:30pm, immediately following the opening ceremony.

The Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team will perform at 3:45pm (weather dependent), with crowds set to experience a thrilling free fall display including advanced manoeuvres at speeds of up to 120mph.

This family day out will also offer a range of stalls including Armed Forces demonstrations/simulators, a military area, family area, food and drinks, Carmarthenshire County Council including the Actif Sport and Leisure service and Llanelli Scarlets.

The Military and Family Area will be vibrant, fun and interactive, packed with attractions for all ages including opportunities to see real military vehicles up close, explore displays from Armed Forces units, engage with interactive recruitment stands and “have-a-go” activities.

Following the opening ceremony, a packed schedule will entertain visitors at the stage area throughout the day and into the evening, with a free concert in the park from 5:30pm until 7:30pm with music provided by Newshan, and performances from former and current Loud Applause Rising Stars members including Lauren Williams, Liam J Edwards (S4C’s Y Llais finalist in 2025) and headlined by West End performer Samuel Wyn Morris. With limited seating available, visitors are encouraged to bring along blankets and/or chairs if they can.

Entry to the event is free of charge, but parking charges will apply at Pembrey Country Park for visitors who are not annual parking permit holders. Parking vouchers will be issued to serving members of the Armed Forces and veterans.

Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Linda Evans, said:
